ASCENDO, Trinnov and Christie to showcase WaveForming cinema at Audio Advice Live

ASCENDO Immersive Audio, Trinnov and Christie will team up at this year’s Audio Advice Live show to combine Cylindrical WaveForming technology with infrasonic bass reproduction.

Running in the Magnolia II room from August 7-9, the demonstration aims to highlight the next evolution of low-frequency room optimisation.

The installation, billed as a ‘standout experience’ at the US event, pairs Trinnov's AltitudeCI processor and Amplitude16 amplifier with an ASCENDO immersive loudspeaker system.

Unlike conventional room correction systems that attempt to manage bass issues after they occur, Trinnov's Cylindrical WaveForming technology is engineered to prevent standing waves from developing in the first place.

By combining a floor-level front subwoofer array with strategically positioned rear subwoofers, the technology aims to deliver more consistent bass performance across multiple seats.

The demonstration will employ four front-mounted and two rear ASCENDO THE18 subwoofers, showcasing how WaveForming can maintain seat-to-seat uniformity even within the venue's square room layout.

ASCENDO has also incorporated its THE32 infrasonic subwoofer to extend performance below the WaveForming operating range, enabling reproduction of the ultra-low-frequency effects found in modern movie soundtracks.

Thirteen ASCENDO coaxial point-source loudspeakers complete the immersive audio system.

Christie's Korus 4K1000-KS laser projector will provide the visuals, delivering more than 10,000 ISO lumens onto a 135-inch Stewart Wallscreen Deluxe with Harmony woven material.

ASCENDO and Trinnov will also exhibit a two-channel system in the event lobby, featuring the former’s Black Swan loudspeakers and THE28 SUB SQUARED subwoofer.

The showcase follows the two brands' collaborative demonstration at last year’s event, which received eCoustics' Best Bass Response accolade.
