Following 41-day voting period, CEDIA has announced the four elected candidates to serve on the CEDIA Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 term.
Melanie Malcolm was elected to fill the open EMEA position while Jamie Briesemeister, Bill Skaer, and Amanda Wildman were elected to fill the open positions for the rest of the world.
CEDIA members have also voted to approve the move of domestication of CEDIA from Illinois to Indiana.

Co-founder and co-owner of UK-based Bespoke Home Cinemas, Melanie Malcolm will finish her current term on the CEDIA Board of Directors before beginning her elected director term on the 1st January next year.
In 2016, Malcolm was elected to the CEDIA EMEA Board and she also helped with CEDIA’s global alignment process. She is also seen as an active volunteer, having served in roles such as Strategy Advisory Council (SAC) chair for global accessibility, chair of the Smart Home Apprenticeship Trailblazer Committee in the UK, and CEDIA Awards judge for the EMEA region.
Jamie Briesemeister, CEO and co-founder of Integration Controls in Missouri, USA, is an avid speaker at conferences and seminars, often taking part in panel discussions, presenting informative sessions, and offering Continuing Education Units to architects and designers.
She is an advocate for technology considerations and collaboration in the design/build process as well as a CEDIA Outreach Instructor (COI), avid volunteer, member of the Industry Relations Advisory Council, and chair of the Professional Development Advisory Council.
Bill Skaer is senior managing partner of Bill Skaer and Associates LLC in Texas, USA. Also a former U.S. Air Force management analyst, he has served as a CEDIA volunteer and a seven-term previous board member.
Skaer was given the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 and has also been named CEDIA Volunteer of the Year, CEDIA Fellow, as well as spending almost two decades as CEDIA Ethics Committee chairman.
Owner of TruMedia in Michigan, USA, Amanda Wildman is the current chair of the CEDIA Professional Development Advisory Council. She also serves as a member of the CEDIA Workforce Development Working Group as well having previously been a member of the Business Working Group and has assessed, assisted, and taught courses at CEDIA Expo. Wildman also achieved her CEDIA Outreach Instructor certification (COI) in 2014.
The elected directors will begin their two-year terms on 1st January 2020.
Nominated candidates for appointed positions are currently being reviewed by CEDIA’s Governance Committee.
Appointed directors are selected from among all member types and three positions are open for appointed directors for the 2020-2021 term. One candidate will be selected from the EMEA region and two will be filled from the rest of the global membership.
The CEDIA Governance committee will make recommendations to the newly-seated board, and will vote on appointments at the January 2020 board meeting.
