Technology IP solutions provider Fasetto has announced that its new solution for sound over the power lines, AUDIO Cu, has received a Dolby Atmos Product Certification from Dolby Laboratories.
Known as a critical part of the Dolby quality assurance programme, the Dolby Atmos certification was awarded to the Fasetto’s AUDIO Cu after extensive testing, registration and approval was carried out at Dolby Laboratories.
Coy Christmas, founder and CEO of Fasetto, said: “Dolby Atmos Product Certification marks a major milestone for Fasetto and our AUDIO Cu sound over the power lines home audio solution.
“AUDIO Cu also marks a major milestone in audio connectivity, sound engineering and simplicity. Users can now experience high fidelity Dolby certified Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos audio through speakers or subwoofers connected across power lines with minimal latency and exceptional sound performance.
“This enables users to place and connect their home audio system through power lines wherever they wish without the hassle of cumbersome speaker wires or worrying about structural and RF interference. It's extremely superior to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and WISA based audio solutions that are currently available. The future of home audio connectivity has arrived with AUDIO Cu.”
The Dolby-certified AUDIO Cu is a plug-and-play sound over power line solution designed as an affordable audio option without the need for an audio video receiver (AVR), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or ISA/WISA-e systems. It decodes audio on the fly to match source material to the speaker system configuration via the power lines to each channel by an AUDIO Cu amplified receiver (RX).
AUDIO Cu can detect noise or interference on the power lines to determine the best way to send the packets of audio to each speaker or subwoofer without any packet loss or latency. It delivers an immersive experience by sending sound over the power lines to up to 10 channels per audio system in any configuration 2.0 to 9.1, including Dolby Atmos up to 7.1.2.
The delivery can handle up to 32 different channels split between multiple systems within one environment. It can be configured for any home audio system, enabling users to grow their speaker count according to their needs. The included mobile app, operational on Apple and Android smart devices, makes it simple to set up any new or existing home audio system. Users can control each speaker or system individually using digital signal processor (DSP) pre-sets and listening modes.
The sound solution also reduces copper needs, lowering manufacturing pollution, annual waste cost and logistic and labour-related pollution.
Software development company RT-RK partnered with Fasetto on the project. Miroslav Dokic, vice president of business development at RT-RK, said: “RT-RK has been a proud early adopter and supporter of the Dolby Atmos immersive audio format from its inception in 2012.
“Recently we worked closely with Fasetto’s exceptional engineering team, whose unique intellectual property includes delivering pristine and low-latency audio over existing power line infrastructure.
“The end result is AUDIO Cu, which revolutionises the immersive audio market in so many different ways. Now, having obtained Dolby Atmos product-level certification, AUDIO Cu is ready to hit the audio market with full force. RT-RK’s engineering team is proud to have been a partner on this exciting journey that market innovators like Fasetto are creating.”
