HARMAN ‘unlocks meaningful growth opportunities’ as it completes Sound United acquisition

HARMAN has completed its acquisition of Sound United, the former consumer audio business of Masimo Corporation.

In this latest development, the subsidiary of Samsung Electronics takes ownership of Sound United’s premium audio brands including Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, HEOS and more.

Known for specialising in automotive, consumer and enterprise technologies, HARMAN will use the acquisition to expand into home audio products within its Lifestyle Division.

Dave Rogers, president of HARMAN’s Lifestyle Division, said: "Sound United’s impressive roster of brands is rooted in a deep passion for sound, innovation and commitment to quality that aligns with HARMAN’s own values.

“This transaction unlocks meaningful growth opportunities for everyone.”

In an official interview, Rogers said the company is excited about the future as it accesses new markets – with best-in-class product performance remaining “the number one priority”.

Sound United will operate as a standalone Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to preserve each brand’s identity and customer base.
