AudioControl has introduced the Director Model M4800D multi-zone amplifier, incorporating Dante network connectivity into the company’s 8-channel platform with a 1U chassis for minimal rack space.
A whole-house entertainment experience
The AudioControl Director Model M4800D combines 100 watts/8-Ohms, 200 watts/4-Ohms of output into an 8x4 stereo matrix, accompanied by onboard DSP (digital signal processing) including graphic and parametric equalisation by zone for the ability to bridge channels.
AudioControl’s DSP engine also offers a library of custom digital profiles tailored to popular architectural loudspeakers, enabling integrators to fine-tune each zone for ultimate performance.
The M4800D also features full matrix audio capability from any of the eight analogue/digital inputs to any output, with the option to operate either standalone or as part of a third party smart home ecosystem.
Multi-zone amplifier for any application including audio over IP
Dante is an uncompressed, multi-channel digital media networking technology that moves data over a standard IP network using CAT5e, CAT6 or fibre optic cable with near-zero latency.
This technology empowers integrators to deliver quality audio to every zone without being tethered to analogue cables susceptible to signal degradation, especially over longer runs.
Steve Haas, director of product development at AudioControl, said: “Dante technology built into AudioControl’s best-in-class high-power amplifier line-up enables integrators to deliver the clarity of uncompressed audio over a standard IP network using readily available CAT5e, CAT6 or fibre optic cable with near-zero latency.
“Factor in the matrix switching and DSP features of the Director Model M4800D, all engineered into a compact 1U chassis, and this amplifier represents the ultimate multi-zone solution for AV professionals.”
