Bang & Olufsen unveils BeoSound Shape

Bang & Olufsen has introduced the BeoSound Shape, a wall-mounted wireless speaker system with a customisable design.

The BeoSound Shape is a modular system incorporating hexagonal tiles that can scale to almost any size and configuration; both acoustically and visually.

Each BeoSound Shape tile features speakers, amplifiers and acoustic damper tiles that scale the sound performance and visual design of the system.

The BeoSound Core connectivity hub, located behind the tile, enables wireless streaming of via mobile device, with support for streaming technologies including AirPlay (TBC), Chromecast built-in (TBC) and Bluetooth and multiroom use with B&O PLAY products.

The system is available in an array of colours and textiles to suit a range of interiors – including Parisian Night Blue, Purple Heart, Infantry Green, Brazilian Clay, Wild Dove Grey and classic Black, as well as additional fabric and colour options from Danish manufacturer of design textiles Kvadrat. It can be scaled up from a minimum of six tiles to a variety of configurations for use in large multipurpose rooms in homes.

The BeoSound Shape will be released in August 2017. Costing is dependent on the size, acoustical performance, and fabric choice and finalised at a later date. The price is expected to start at £3,400 (approximately €3,900).
