BenQ unveils Home Cinema Series for range of enthusiasts

BenQ announced the debut of its Home Cinema Series last week, unveiling exclusive Solid-State Illumination (SSI) and AI Cinema technology.

The W5850, W4100i and W2720i home cinema projectors feature next-gen SSI in the form of LED and laser light sources.

Each projector delivers colours as directors intended, including 100% Rec.709, 100% DCI-P3 and Delta E<3 (with high-end models achieving Delta E<2).

Global Contrast Enhancer, Local Contrast Enhancer and Dynamic Black offer multi-stage processing to support HDR10, HLG and HDR10+ formats.

The series also incorporates built-in Noise Reduction to enhance compressed streaming content.

AI Cinema Mode takes this further by analysing image composition in real-time to adjust HDR, colour saturation and sharpness.

Addressing compressed video quality on streaming platforms, this feature delivers cinematic-grade details in every scene from Hollywood blockbusters to original streaming content.

W5: Designed for theatre-grade large screens

The BenQ W5850 delivers a 200” screen with a flexible, shorter throw ratio to outperform competitors.

Engineered for premium darkroom setups, the projector features colour precision, deep blacks and a versatile 1.0–1.6 throw ratio.

Additionally, a digital four-way lens shift and 1.6x motorised zoom support the 2600-lumen blue laser for projection of a 180” screen from 4m.

These features ensure 100% Rec. 709 / DCI-P3 colour accuracy with factory-calibrated Delta E <2.

W4: Multipurpose versatility for home cinema rooms

The W4100i incorporates AI Cinema calibration mode to ensure cinema-grade visuals with built-in Android TV and adaptable installation.

The projector’s 3200-lumen LED light source optimises bright and dark contrast while preserving accurate colour representation.

W2: Home cinema for living rooms

The W2720i offers AI Cinema and ambient light adaptation technology to adapt visuals to subtle lighting changes.

The line-up offers advanced connectivity including HDMI 2.1, SPDIF and eARC for Dolby Atmos and 7.1 surround sound.

Low-latency Fast Mode delivers 17.9ms response time for fast-paced movies, sports and games.

Peter Huang, president of BenQ Corporation, said: “As projection technology advances, consumers now seek versatile solutions for immersive, adaptable large-screen high-definition experiences that fit modern lifestyles.

“Upholding our commitment to bring directors’ authentic colours to life and drive home cinema innovation, the new BenQ Home Cinema Series meets the diverse needs of home entertainment enthusiasts ranging from beginners to expert connoisseurs.”
