Bose develops Lifestyle Collection for home audio market

Bose has unveiled a new home audio lineup that works across flexible configurations, from a single space to multiple rooms.

The Lifestyle Collection includes a wireless smart speaker, immersive soundbar and subwoofer, built with the brand’s proprietary audio technologies.

Bose says users can stream audio directly from any platform and group speakers, including those from other manufacturers, using Google Cast or Apple AirPlay.

Meanwhile, its updated app offers consolidated permissions, third-party account sign-in and secure Wi-Fi credential sharing across devices.

Building on over 40 years of home audio development, the range aims to create a system that meets varied listening needs throughout the home.

“With the Lifestyle Collection, we wanted every detail to serve a singular purpose: making exceptional sound easy to enjoy,” said Raza Haider, president of premium consumer audio at Bose.

Suited to an office, bedroom or kitchen, a Lifestyle Ultra Speaker operates on its own or in a pair for stereo listening.

It uses an evolution of Bose’s Direct/Reflecting speaker technology with three drivers — two front-facing and one up-firing — to project sound towards the ceiling, walls and back toward the listener.

Additionally, its TrueSpatial audio processing technology places sound in space using up-firing speaker design – an effect multiplied in a stereo setup – while CleanBass technology combines the speaker’s woofer with a proprietary QuietPort acoustic opening and advanced digital signal processing.

Meanwhile, the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar provides an all-in-one solution that can be expanded with the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer and two additional Ultra Speakers for a 7.1.4 multichannel home theatre system.

It features new acoustic architecture engineered to deliver cinematic performance from a single enclosure; this includes six full-range drivers (two up-firing and four front-facing), a centre tweeter and two additional Bose PhaseGuide drivers for Dolby Atmos content.

PhaseGuide technology also aims to add dimension, placing sound to the right and left where there are no actual speakers.

For content not originally mixed with Dolby Atmos, TrueSpatial technology creates an immersive experience while SpeechClarity technology applies Bose’s AI-driven speech augmentation to isolate dialogue.

Completing the collection, the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer is a wireless bass module powered by CleanBass technology and the same acoustic QuietPort opening.
