CH Precision adds 10 series performance to record play with phono-stage launch

CH Precision followed up the release of its L10 and M10 amplifiers with the launch of a partnering phono-stage, the P10, this week.

The Swiss audio manufacturer revealed that the two-box product has a massive, dedicated power supply.

Building on its P1 product, CH Precision says the P10 has a new circuit with three separate gain stages to reduce noise.

The P10 has two-stage passive EQ, four independently configurable XLR/RCA phono inputs, two trans-impedance current sensing MC inputs and two conventional, fully discrete, voltage sensing MC/MM inputs.

Compared with the P1, it has higher gain and finer gain adjustment (3dB steps rather than 5dB) on all inputs.

User selectable local/global feedback and a range of loading options on voltage inputs are provided.

The product has seven optional EQ curves for EMI, Columbia (LP), Decca (London), Teldec (DGG), NARTB/NAB, Capitol (AES) and Philips.

CH Precision says it has improved the user interface and included an IR remote control for all main functions. Improvements have also been made to the cartridge gain/loading wizard to aid set up.

The P10’s noise floor is 5dB lower than the P1; 45 to 78dB of gain in 3dB steps (8dB more than the P1); four independent phono inputs and eight different record replay EQ curves. It has a remotely selectable Neumann pole for all EQ curves, local/global feedback, stereo/mono switching and high-pass filter.

With the launch of the P10, CH Precision has incorporated the improved mechanical grounding system employed on the other 10 Series products and it is available in the same choice of three finishes.
