Chord brings XLPE tech to hi-fi and home cinema lovers on a budget

Chord Company has unveiled the C-screenX cable, featuring its latest XLPE insulation technology, targeting hi-fi and home cinema fans who are on a budget.

The cost-effective loudspeaker cable allows a wider range of AV enthusiasts to experience Chord Company quality.

Its small form factor – 9mm in diameter – and fully shielded allows the cable to be hidden from view. C-screenX is highly flexible to allow it to be routed around edges of the room with ease, and its white outer jacket which protects the shielding means it is less noticeable against white skirting boards.

Made up of multi-stranded oxygen-free copper conductors and insulated with Chord Company’s XLPE (Cross Linked Polythene), C-screenX is arranged in a twisted-pair configuration to reduce interference. It is then enclosed in a PVC casing which reduces mechanical noise and spaces the conductors correctly.

With the same sonic characteristic benefits as Chord Company’s other shielded speaker cables, the C-screenX provides real performance benefits to AV systems where interference can seriously affect sound quality.

Ideal for those on a budget, the C-screenX is priced at £7.50 per metre. It can also be used for larger home cinema projects where often complex cable-runs are the norm.
