Dirac spatial audio solution features in new Cleer Audio wireless headphones

Dirac and Cleer Audio have teamed up to integrate Dirac’s patented spatial audio solution Dirac Virtuo into the Bluetooth chipset of Cleer Audio’s new ALPHA over-ear, active noise cancelling, wireless headphones.

The Dirac Virtuo technology allows users to enjoy immersive sound experiences from any stereo content through the new Cleer ALPHA headphones.

While spatial audio is becoming more mainstream, most consumed content is still stereo and not spatial. Dirac Virtuo for wireless headphones turns any stereo content into an immersive sound experience with an accurate soundstage and high sound quality. With the integration into the Cleer ALPHA, listeners experience a more balanced sound and an expanded soundscape that includes all spatial cues of the original stereo content.

The technology uses a high-resolution Binaural Room Impulse Response (BRIR) to bring out the spatial cues already embedded in stereo recordings, recreating the listening experience as originally intended by the artist.

Dirac Virtuo also includes measurement-based frequency response correction technology to digitally enhance the sound quality of headphones, removing undesired resonances and colourations.

Having spatial audio through the headphones results in a more natural and comfortable listening experience that sounds like audio is emanating from beyond the headphones.

The Cleer ALPHA headphones include adaptive technology to sense a user’s surroundings and provide a quiet, focused listening experience. The headphones feature patented 40mm Ironless drivers for clear audio and strong bass and delivers up to 35 hours of playback time.
