Dynaudio to unveil new product line for CI market at CEDIA Expo 2019

Dynaudio, a Danish loudspeaker company, is launching the Custom Performance range of products, which will be revealed for the first time in September at CEDIA Expo 2019 in Denver.

Using the same technologies and expert tuning process as other Dynaudio loudspeakers, the new product family comprises of high-end slimline in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, a fire-resistant back-box and two new outdoor loudspeakers.

Custom Performance
Designed for listening to high-quality audio at the home, the new Performance range marks the entry point to Dynaudio’s Custom product line.

To simplify installation, the Performance speakers come in one depth, meaning the user does not have to choose between deep and shallow versions, while ensuring the same high performance.

The rectangular in-wall speakers are a one-piece design that slots into place and is secured by tightening dog-legs that grip the dry-wall. The circular ceiling speakers requires fitting the frame and then twisting the speaker unit to lock into place with no tools required.

Both the P4-W65 and P4-W80 in-wall speakers have 28mm soft-dome tweeters, but the former has a 6.5-in MSP woofer while the latter has an eight-inch woofer.

The P4-C65 in-ceiling speaker also has a 28mm soft-dome tweeter and a 6.5-in MSP woofer, while the P4-DVC65 in-ceiling speaker has two 28mm soft-dome tweeters and a 6.5-in MSP woofer. Similarly, the P4-C80 in-ceiling speaker has a 28mm soft-dome tweeter and an eight-inch MSP woofer.

Finally in the Custom Performance range, the P4-LCR50 in-wall LCR speaker has a 28mm soft-dome tweeter and two five-inch woofers.

The accompanying shallow-depth fire-proof metal black-box is packed with Morgan Superwool to provide an hour of protection. The box will mount into standard 60-in on-centre studs.

Custom Outdoor
Also launching are two outdoor speakers: the OW-6, with a 28mm soft-dome tweeter and a 6.5-in woofer, and the OW-8, with a 28mm tweeter and an eight-inch woofer.

Available in black or white and including articulating brackets, both speakers can be connected to a regular amplifier as a pair of passive 8Ω speakers. To have multiple speakers creating a consistent sound level across a large area such as an outdoor space, the speakers can be daisy-chained on a single 70V/100V system using the selector on the rear.

To ensure durability being outdoors, both the OW-6 and OW-8 are IP65-rated and can operate in temperatures from -33⁰C to 40⁰C.

Peter Gibb, development manager, Europe (CI) commented: “We want to make it as easy as possible for installers to do their jobs, which is why we’ve kept our entire Custom range super-simple to specify and install.

“But most all, we want their clients to have incredible sound quality to enjoy their music and films. These new products make that job even easier.”

The new Custom Performance and Custom Outdoor range of products will be showcased at CEDIA Expo 2019 in Denver next month on Dynaudio’s stand: Booth 943 in Zone B.
