Earzz launches monitor to protect smart homes

UK start-up Earzz introduces a sound-recognition product to build a smarter home.

The Earzz Smart Home Monitor listens to sounds of the homeowners choosing to alert them of intruders. The monitor focuses on sound anomalies rather than voice recognition to send notifications to the homeowners device. The audio files are never stored in an attempt to guarantee privacy for the user.

The smart home monitor features sound recognition AI powered by cloud infrastructure, as well as a library of sounds to choose from such as a crying baby or smoke alarm. The in-app sound logs allow users to keep track of their sounds. The monitor can connect to other Earzz devices and configure them within the Earzz app.

The Earzz device can work wirelessly for up to 8 hours, or it can be left permanently mains-powered via the USB-C socket.
