High-end audio company, Estelon has made its new X Centro Mk II and X Centro Diamond Mk II centre channel speakers available now.
Designed for multichannel music systems and home cinemas, the X Centro Mk II is a centre channel speaker which provides extremely high-quality sound performances for its category and price point with a high level of musical accuracy.
Like its predecessor, the X Centro, the design was based on the XC model and matches its tonal reproduction and sophistication of all Estelon products.
Available in two variants, the X Centro Mk II comes with a ceramic inverted dome tweeter while the X Centro Diamond Mk II comes with a diamond tweeter. Like all X Series models, it uses high-quality drivers designed and produced by the highly regarded German driver manufacturer, Thiel & Partner GmbH (Accuton).
Featuring two 7” ceramic mid-woofers, the speakers have a clean impulse response with low total harmonic distortion (THD) and intermodulation distortion (IMD). The ceramic 1” inverted dome alpha corundum tweeter keeps the distortion exceptionally low, and the first break-up modes are pushed out of the audible range, while the diamond 1” chemical vapour-deposited “diamond membrane” tweeter from Accuton can reproduce sounds up to the highest frequencies (to 64 kHz), with no distortion in the human hearing range.
The X Centro Mk II crossover has been revised and now feature new and improved resistors and capacitors to offer a wider dynamic range and greater transparency. The new internal cabling is provided by Kubala-Sosna. All filter components are connected directly, via point-to-point techniques, hand-soldered with high-quality silver solder, while using the shortest possible cable runs between drivers, crossover and binding posts.
The integrated stand of the X Centro Mk II features a well-designed base which is milled from thick billet aluminium. The base is then attached to a sleek, aluminium tube that secures the speaker. This construction gives the speaker the necessary stability to eliminate vibrations and improve fidelity.
Available now, the X Centro Mk II has a SRP of €15,000 / $18,000 and the X Centro Diamond Mk II’s SRP is €21,000 / $27,000.
