As its new top-of-the-line offering from its 2021 premium LCD TV lineup, LG Electronics has announced its first QNED Mini LED TVs which will be unveiled at the virtual CES 2021 next week.
The new 2021 lineup consists of 10 new 4K and 8K models covering various large screen sizes up to 86-in.
Using quantum dot and NanoCell technologies with Mini LEDs as the light source, the brightness and contrast are greatly improved compared to conventional LCD TVs, representing a big step forward in LCD picture quality.
The new QNED Mini LED TVs are the first to combine quantum dot and NanoCell in one product, producing accurate colours while the advanced LED backlight offers better contrast and deeper blacks for vibrant and realistic images. With a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, the new lineup renders motion smoothly and more natural.
Almost 30,000 tiny LEDs make up the Mini LED backlighting, producing a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 when paired with up to nearly 2,500 dimming zones and advanced dimming technology (featured on the 86-in 8K QNED model). This results in excellent HDR image quality with outstanding contrast and blacks, a wide colour gamut and incredible colour accuracy, according to the company.
The 86-in 8K QNED TV will be on display in LG’s virtual booth next week at the digital CES 2021.
