The Women in Consumer Technology (WiCT) is hosting its 15th Annual networking reception and lunch at the CEDIA EXPO.
The CEDIA EXPO takes place from September 7-9 at the Colorado Convention Centre. WiCT is an organisation that empowers women and promotes career opportunities in the consumer technology industry through live networking
events. The WiCT networking reception and lunch will take place on September 8 at 11:30am in the Four Seasons Ballroom 1. The networking reception will be followed by lunch and a keynote speech from Qadra Evans [picture right].
Evans is a member of the executive leadership team of the educational movement “The House That She Built,” and the director of industry relations for new construction for Zillow’s, an online real estate database. Evans will share the inspiring story of “The House That She Built,” which has a mission to support workforce development initiatives in the construction industry by generating awareness of the skilled trades to the women, who are considered the largest underrepresented group in construction. “The House That She Built” aims to engage and educate young women and girls about the viability of a career in construction.
Carol Campbell, the founder of WiCT, said she was excited about the growth of the networking reception and believes women have shown they are a firm part of consumer technology. Campbell said she is, “amazed at the transformative impact women have made in our industry in the 15 years we've hosted.” Qadra Evans will build on the theme of women’s participation and success in the consumer technology space and promote further growth in this area for women.
Tickets are available on the Women in Consumer Technology website.
