Marantz has debuted new models to its SR series, introducing the SR5015 AV receiver and SR6015, SR7015 and SR8015 amplifiers.
The SR5015 features 7ch with each 180W supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, with the SR6015 featuring 9ch and 185W adding IMAX enhanced certification.
The SR6015 also includes 11.2ch processing and allows for the extension of the setup via an external stereo amplifier.
The 9ch 200W SR7015 includes a second display behind its aluminum trap door and supports the Auro 3D format.
The SR8015 features 11ch 205W amplifiers built in, with 13.2 processing capabilities, DTS:X Pro support and single board amplifier design, toroidal transformer or a copper plated chassis.
Each model includes Marantz’s hyper dynamic amplification module (HDAM) circuity, with the SR8015 supporting DTS:X Pro to allow users to harness 13 channels of DTS:X decoding with speaker configurations such as 7.2.6 or 9.2.4 via 13.2 channel processing capabilities with external amplification. This feature will be provided via a firmware update later in 2020.
Other audio formats will be supported, including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualisation Technology, DTS:X, DTS Virtual:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D.
The SR-series also support pre-amplifier mode on the SR6015, SR7015 and SR8015 models, providing a clear signal path and more tolerance in clipping levels by disconnecting internal amplifiers when the receiver is used as an AV processor and all speakers are powered by external amplifiers.
A dedicated 8K HDMI input is included, allowing for 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video pass-through, new HDR format support including HDR10+ and dynamic HDR as well as a new quick media switching HDMI feature, allowing sources to switch frame rate to eliminate screen blackout.
