Monitor Audio launches sixth generation of Silver series

Monitor Audio has introduced the latest models in its Silver series – incorporating two standmounters, three floorstanders, two new centre channels, a surround speaker and an active subwoofer.

First unveiled at the Munich High End Show 2017, Monitor Audio state that nearly every aspect of its latest 9-model range has been designed from its previous incarnation.

All speakers have a 25mm gold dome tweeter, revamped for clearer highs and reducing distortion.

The series incorporates technology the manufacturer’s flagship Platinum II Series including a DCF coupling mechanism for tackling roll-off in the high frequencies of the drivers and distortion. It also features C-CAM (ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium) material mid-bass drivers.

Designed in conjunction with National Physical Laboratory, the range’s handcrafted cabinets were designed with a precision laser scanner from to identify cabinet resonances and position internal bracings.

Each model has been designed to be as slimline as possible, incorporating HiVe II ports positioned at the back and slim, speckled magnetic grilles.

All speakers are available in a variety of finishes, including satin white, high gloss black (for an additional cost) and wood veneers.

Monitor Audio’s Silver series will be released in July.
