Monitor Audio to debut Studio loudspeaker at Munich High End 2018

Monitor Audio has revealed that it will be showcasing its newly developed Studio loudspeaker at Munich High End Show 2018 next week.

Incorporating technology of the manufacturer’s flagship Platinum PL500 II, Monitor’s Studio loudspeaker features a new compact grille-less design incorporating two metallic-silver RDT II speaker cones. Its design is completed with a honeycomb tweeter cover and bespoke solid-metal logo.

Monitor states that the Studio’s dual 4-in drivers (surrounded by a rigid die-cast aluminium sub-baffle) have been deployed to produce bass and mid-range detail, with the RDT II cones – housed in a bespoke cast polymer chassis – on hand to tackle distortion. The speaker also features a MPD (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) high frequency transducer for wide response and detail. Furthermore Polypropylene film capacitors, air-core and laminated steel-core inductors are installed to preserve signal integrity.

The speaker cabinet has been tuned using two rear-mounted HiVe II slot ports mounted at the top and bottom of the cabinet.

The Studio is available in a satin black, white or grey finishes, with a custom floorstand also available.

Monitor Audio will highlight all three versions of the Studio speakers, in addition to Silver 50, Silver 100, Silver 200, Silver 300, Silver FX models, Monitor 50, Monitor 100, Monitor 200, Monitor 300, Monitor C150, and Bronze 5, Gold 200 and PL200 II at Studio in Hall 3, on stand J06/K09. Its demo room will showcase a pair of white Studios, as well as Roksan components.

The 2018 edition of the Munich High End runs from Thursday 10 May to Sunday 13 May, 2018 at the MOC, Munich.
