NAD Electronics launches new amplifier and AVR at ISE 2020

At ISE 2020, NAD Electronics launched its new CI 8-150 DSP amplifier, as well as making its T 778 flagship AVR available for shipping.

CI 8-150
The new advanced amplifier targeted at high performance distributed audio systems is said to be available in April.

While the CI 8-150 will deliver a conservative 8 x 150 watts per channel @ 8 ohms, it is also bridgeable to 4 x 365 watts per channel @ 8 ohms.

The hybrid digital amplifier platform provides stable and efficient power with high current capability. To make this level of performance possible, the CI 8-150 DSP uses a customised version of the proven nCore output stage, which allows for a lot of power with extremely low distortion and noise in the audible range.

Made to be installer friendly, the CI 8-150 DSP allows integrators to program and control a variety of function which can be access through a web browser. The custom web UI can manage DSP calibration and IP control as well as offer several helpful diagnostic features.

Once the installer has accessed the unit from within the network, the amplifier can be set up, calibrated, as well as reboot, factory reset, restore custom settings, and update firmware.

The CI 8-150 amplifier is stable at 4 ohm impedances, and a variety of power methods are available as well as an Eco mode setting for minimal power consumption.

T 778
Also at the show, NAD announced the availability of its highly-anticipated 9-channel flagship AVR, the T 778. Shipping now, it is priced £2,499.

Building on its legacy of providing high value and high performance AVRs, NAD’s latest reference model expands on its real-world performance, simple operation, and future upgradeability.

Featuring NAD’s latest developments, the T 778 uses HybridDigital technology to create nine high current and high power channels of amplification with improved efficiency.

The new AVR delivers 9 x 80 watts FDP and 9 x 160 watts FTC with all channels driven at rated distortion. For flexibility, the amp channels are configurable to be used for surround or second zone audio.

The low profile 3U rack-mount chassis and TFT touch display combined with certified driver support for all major control systems make the T 778 a solution for advanced home cinemas.

Featuring 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, DTS Master Audio and Dirac Live room correction, the T 778 delivers hyper-realism for every dimension of the performance. In addition to this, it also features 4K UHD video pass-through for a high-end cinema experience. Users can also have hi-res multiroom streaming via BluOS using the T 778.
