Optoma has launched its first 4K UHD HDR-compatible projectors for the home, the UHD60 and UHD65.
Incorporating a DLP chip with XPR technology and advanced image processing, the models are able to deliver 8.3 million pixels to the screen.
Both projectors support HDCP 2.2 to allow users to have access to the widest range of 4K content. The main difference between the two being that the UHD65 offers a higher contrast ratio (1,200,000:1 versus 1,000,000:1), but 2,200 lumens of brightness compared to the UHD60's 3,000.
PureMotion frame-interpolation technology is also only included with the 2,200 lumen UHD65, which works to decrease motion blur or image judder.
Both offer Optoma’s Amazing Colour technology featuring an update colour wheel and different modes ensuring users can choose the most suitable setting for what they are watching. This includes ‘Reference’ mode, capable of delivering Rec.709 HDTV broadcast specification colours.
The projectors’ integrated speakers provide 8W audio, with an audio output included for connections to external sound systems. Both models operate at 25dB in Eco mode.
The UHD60 and UHD65 can be used with Google Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV via a HDMI dongle.
Optoma’s UHD60 projector (prices at £2,499.99 in the UK) is available now, with the UHD65 set to follow in August (priced at £2,999.99 in the UK).
