AudioControl has introduced a family of products including a 16-channel immersive surround processor, amplifiers and eARC-to-Dante converters.
The Hyperion Series unites AudioControl’s expertise with AVPro Edge, known for its video and networking specialty, in a line designed to adhere to all 22 audio design benchmarks by CEDIA/CTA-RP22.
The range features the APR-16 Surround Processor, designed with 16 channels to accommodate complex home cinema configurations. Its independent signal path optimisation enables AV professionals to tune each system to suit any room.
The APR-16 delivers cinematic performance using 32-bit ESS Sabre DACs, studio-grade pixel-accurate HDMI video, 24-bit sampling rate support and analogue outputs with extensive routing capabilities.
The platform features a robust API compatible with any control system.
Built-in HDCP and EDID management ensure compatibility between sources and displays, while Dante/AES67 integration provides network audio distribution.
To accommodate multizone entertainment systems, the APR-16 includes a built-in four-port Ethernet switch with Dante/AES67 capability.
Dante functionality will be expanded to 16 channels through a future firmware update.
Elsewhere, the Hyperion home theatre amplifiers are available in three models (Tetra, Penta, and Hepta) featuring four, five and seven channels of output, respectively.
They leverage AudioControl’s award-winning G4 Class H architecture, delivering full power with significantly less heat than traditional Class AB designs.
Additionally, AudioControl's proprietary LightDrive circuitry detects clipping before it reaches the speakers to preserve dynamic range.

Hyperion amplifiers also feature heavy-duty five-way binding posts, balanced XLR inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs with pass-through and a 12V trigger input for control system integration.
AudioControl says the amplifiers’ Native Dante/AES67 support makes them a natural companion to the Hyperion APR-16 and AXIS immersive sound processors, “allowing integrators to build fully networked, high-channel-count systems without the complexity of traditional analogue wiring”.
Meanwhile, Hyperion Axis eARC-to-Dante converters are available in two- and ten-channel models purpose-built for today’s network-based audio designs.
They extract high-bitrate audio via eARC or digital inputs and inject it directly into Dante and AES67 networks.
While the Axis10 is designed for immersive living spaces with decoding for up to eight channels of Dolby Atmos or DTS-HD formats, the Axis2 provides streamlined stereo connectivity for secondary rooms.
Axis10 also includes a dedicated stereo downmix output, making it easy to distribute audio from a primary room throughout the home.

The Axis2 and Axis10 pair with the new Hyperion Tetra, Penta and Hepta amplifiers, as well as existing Dante-enabled Director platforms.
