D-Tools has introduced Inventory Asset Management for D-Tools Cloud, which provides individual asset tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
The new functionality assigns every physical device its own digital identity to enable tracking, from receipt through to installation and support.
This encompasses serial numbers, warehouse locations, project allocations, firmware versions, MAC and IP addresses, unit costs and service history.
Designed to address a common challenge, the feature allows integrators to identify exactly which device is installed in a specific room, linked to a particular customer, and covered by a corresponding warranty or purchase order.
G Paul Hess, CEO of D-Tools, said: “Our customers have been asking for better visibility into the physical assets moving through their business.
“Inventory Asset Management gives integrators the ability to track individual devices throughout their entire lifecycle inside the same D-Tools Cloud platform they already use every day.”
Key capabilities include QR code label generation, barcode-driven warehouse workflows, specific project allocation, service records and complete audit trails.
The platform is intended to streamline warehouse operations, improve job costing, simplify warranty and RMA processes, and provide detailed historical records for ongoing service contracts.
Inventory Asset Management entered beta in May and is now rolling out as a general availability feature in D-Tools Cloud.
Future updates will add direct support for Brother and Zebra label printers.
