Optoma launches ’œaffordable’ 4K projector

Optoma has announced the release of the UHD40 4K UHD projector, targeted at the entry-level 4K projection market.

Optoma’s latest projector may be priced at £1,599.99 in the UK, but it still meets the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) requirements for 4K UHD and the CTA High Dynamic Range (HDR) standards. It also packs in the manufacturer’s Amazing Colour technology and its newly developed 4K precision lens to deliver what Optoma calls “crystal clear detail in every image” projected onto a screen.

In addition to HDR compatibility, the projector offers HDCP 2.2 support, a stereo speaker providing audio and connectivity options including two HDMI ports.

The UHD40’s brightness comes in at 2,400 lumens, with a contrast ratio of 500,000:1, and it can be set up with vertical lens shift for easy positioning. Operation is typical is as quiet as 25dB.
