PMC, in partnership with its US distributor Playback Custom, will deliver a large-scale immersive audio demonstration at CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver.
The installation, located in Sound Room 6, will feature a 15.1(6).8 system with 29 PMC speakers, replicating the type of monitoring environment used in leading Dolby Atmos mixing studios worldwide.
Reference-level cinema performance
The demonstration will highlight how residential cinema systems can reproduce soundtracks “true to the mix,” using technologies trusted by top Hollywood composers and engineers.
The front soundstage will be driven by MB2 XBD speakers for the left, centre, and right channels. Twelve ci140s will provide surround coverage, while eight ci65s will deliver height channels. Low frequencies will be handled by six BST professional-grade subwoofers, capable of 120dB continuous output with a flat response to 17Hz.
Tyler Nelson of Playback Custom said the showcase is designed to illustrate “the potential of delivering cinema systems that replicate movie soundtracks precisely as experienced by directors in the studio.”
Presentations and product displays
Demonstrations will run throughout the show, with 30-minute technology talks presented by Oliver Thomas on September 4 (10:30am) and September 5 (11:30am). Seating is limited and must be booked in advance via info@playbackdistribution.com
In addition to the cinema showcase, Playback Custom will also exhibit on Booth 4425, where models from the ci series will be on display and staff will be available to discuss integrators’ project requirements.
