Q Acoustics has launched the E120, an installed wireless audio system designed for any room in the home.
The wall-mounted E120 can be paired with Q Acoustics’ range of discreet in-ceiling or in-wall speakers to allow homeowners to experience a zero-clutter, wireless home audio system. The system is powerful enough to fill any room with dynamic and immersive stereo audio.
Once installed into a wall and connected to speakers, users are able to stream music wirelessly from popular music services via Bluetooth from compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and DAPs. Support for Bluetooth 5.0 provides greater range and a more stable wireless connection when streaming. Radio fans can enjoy broadcasts over DAB+ or FM with up to five presets configurable to access favourite stations with a single button.
Thanks to digital and analogue connections, the E120 can connect to a TV to enhance the audio and deliver a more immersive and dynamic TV and movie watching experience. A rear analogue audio output is also included, which can be configured to plug into a subwoofer for extra low-end bass sounds, an external power amplifier or even another E120 system.
With an IP54 rating, the E120 can be installed in kitchens and bathrooms where humidity and the ingress of water is possible. It also includes a splash proof remote control (or control via the app/device connected) allowing users to listen to their favourite music and radio stations when in the bath or shower or cooking an evening meal.
Aesthetically, the main wall panel is available in two classic colours to blend in with any interior: black and white. With touch sensitive controls and a 3.2” colour display, users can view the track, artist and album name, while an internal light sensor can be configured to automatically set the display brightness. Owners can also manually set the on and dim levels, an important feature when using the E120 in bedrooms to avoid background light during sleep hours. The E120 also has an alarm function to wake users up in the morning.
Powered by a high-quality built-in class D stereo amplifier delivering 2 x 25W of power at 6 ohms, the E120 is optimised specifically for Q Acoustics’ in-ceiling and in-wall speakers. Furthermore, owners can connect any pair of passive speakers, including cabinet designs between 6-8 ohms.
The speaker outputs can be configured as stereo or dual mono (both output left and right combine) by setting a small switch, while a pair of speakers can be wired in series on each output to support even distribution of sound in larger rooms.
Available from the end of April, the E120 comes in both black and white finishes priced at £429.
