Rotel announces performance upgrades to integrated amplifiers

Audio specialist, Rotel, is releasing acoustic and performance upgrades to three of its award-winning integrated amplifier models from the 14 and 15 Series product lines.

The A14MKII, RA-1572MKII and RA-1592MKII amplifiers will receive the new upgrades, which will see circuit design innovations and component level changes in key circuit locations, leveraging the design elements from the acclaimed Michi Series.

Building upon the success of the A14, Rotel’s flagship integrated amplifier model in the 14 Series, the A14MKII will feature a new Texas instruments DAC supporting 32bit/384kHz audio complimented by 25 component changes in the DAC output filters.

Power supply component changes were also implemented utilising design strategies from Rotel’s Tribute models. Additional changes in the signal path circuits deliver a richer and fuller audio performance with even more lifelike reproduction of music.

With versatile connection offerings, the new A14MKII support all popular source inputs including aptXTM and AAC Bluetooth for wireless streaming, PC-USB up to 32bit/384kHz, MQA decoding and rendering, analogue, digital and a Moving Magnet Phono Stage. The amplifier is also Roon Tested certified to integrate with Roon software.

The next iteration of the RA-1572 integrated amplifier features critical circuits and component upgrades, again including a Texas Instruments 32bit/384kHz DAC supporting PC-USB 32bit/384kHz PCM and MQA rendering and decoding. The RA-1572MKII includes over 33 component changes in acoustic capacitors, filter capacitors and the power supply render audio with a wider, deeper soundstage and improved accuracy and positioning.

Again, the RA-1572MKII supports all popular sources through input connections including a Moving Magnet Phono stage, XLR Balanced, Coax, Optical, RCA, front iPod USB and aptXTM and AAC Wireless Streaming Bluetooth connections. Its PC-USB connection is also certified Roon Tested to integrate with Roon software.

Rotel’s flagship from the 15 Series, the RA-1592MKII, delivers 200 watts of Class AB output power into 8ohms and now delivers an even higher level of audio performance with upgrades to all critical circuits. The Texas Instruments 32bit/384kHz DAC circuits feature 12 new coupling capacitors with improved frequency response and even higher component tolerances.

Upgraded capacitors are also used in critical signal paths totalling over 28 changed components with additional changes in the power supply circuits. Dynamic, controlled bass energy, exceptional detail, and reproduction of every nuance of sound with exacting positioning ensures the innovations in the RA-1592MKII are deserving of the MKII designation.

Source inputs include aptXTM and AAC high quality wireless Bluetooth streaming, MQA decoding and rendering via PC-USB, PCM PC-USB audio up to 32bit.384kHz, Moving Magnet Phono Stage, Analogue, Digital, XLR Balanced and front panel USB for iOS devices. Again, it is Roon Tested to integrate with Roon software.

The three new MKII models feature ethernet and RS232 connections for integration with control systems, IR remote, front panel status display, intelligent power control, Audio-Direct Tone Bypass mode, and dual A-B five-way speaker binding posts.

Available in silver or black, all models can be pre-ordered now with shipping expected to start in May for the US and Canada and to the rest of the world shortly afterwards.

The A14MKII has a suggested retail price of £1,195 / €1,399 / $1,599.99; the RA-1572MKII has a suggested retail price of £1,595 / €1,899 / $2,099.99; and the RA-1592MKII’s is £2,295 / €2,699 / $3,199.99.
