Designed and tuned by Sonos and custom-built by Sonance, the 8-in in-ceiling Speaker features an enlarged woofer and high-excursion motor that aims for a smooth midrange, with a deep bass down to 32Hz.
A 30mm tweeter and newly optimised waveguide aims to create natural sounding vocals and better high-frequency dispersion.
When paired with Sonos Amp, the in-ceiling or in-wall speakers unlock benefits including overdrive protection and custom tuning enhancements. In combination with Sonos Amp the 8-in speakers also benefit from Trueplay tuning which accounts for the size, construction, and furnishings of the room where the speakers are placed, and automatically adjusts the EQ. The 8-in in-ceiling speakers, when paired with Sonos Amp, will benefit from the Sonos ecosystem including an app that works with the major streaming services, Apple AirPlay 2 control, regular software updates and the ability to add additional Sonos speakers and components over time.
The grille for both 8-in and 6-in sizes are available in white and due to a steel grille, can be painted to meet the customisation needs of clients.
