For Core Brands, this year’s CEDIA Expo is all about the experience.
We’ve delivered a lot of new product this year, and we’re thrilled to be showing it all! The hottest and newest experience is ELAN Intercom, a brand new feature enabled by our ELAN g! 7.2 software release. With two-way video, full duplex audio, and awesome away-from-home features, ELAN Intercom is what dealers will still be talking about after the show.
The new ELAN Intercom provides doorbell, paging and true full duplex point-to-point intercom functions that integrate seamlessly with ELAN interfaces and controlled multi-room media systems. Unlike hardware-based intercom systems, the ELAN Intercom supports virtually unlimited zones. ELAN Intercom can share speakers with a multi-room audio system, third party door stations, and work with any ELAN dedicated in-wall touch panels or mobile device running the ELAN g! mobile app. ELAN allows integrators to link multiple ELAN systems, even if they are not on the same network. It also lets users make point-to-point intercom calls to any interface across any linked system. For intercom zones that share the same network, users can press the “page” button, and begin speaking to all intercom zones on the network. When another user answers the “page”, it becomes a point-to-point call. Thus, ELAN Intercom makes it easy to connect with family whether it’s from within the home, throughout the property or across the world.
When an ELAN user is travelling, the g! mobile app keeps them connected, enabling them to answer a call from any intercom zone, or answer the front door from anywhere in the world. The g! mobile app sends push notifications when the app is not open, and any of the ELAN g! custom tones when the app is open. When a mobile user wants to unplug, a “Do Not Disturb” (DND) function is available on every interface. In emergencies, a “DND Admin Override” code can be used to temporarily suspend DND mode.
ELAN’s 7in. touch panel interface (gTP7) features an integrated camera, microphone and speakers that can be used for intercom communications. Since this unit can be connected via Wi-Fi, it can be added almost anywhere in the home. For rooms that serve as a nursery or family room, an ELAN touch panel with the intercom feature doubles as a room monitor, allowing users to check in on loved ones without disturbing them.
For installations with the g1 system controller, the on-screen display (OSD) interface doubles as a one-way audio video receiver for “Pages” and “Doorbell” chimes. When someone is at the door, ELAN can wake up the TV and play chimes through the TV speakers, or through an event map it can have the OSD go directly to viewing mode to see who is at the door. Users can easily turn this function on or off using the DND function. Similarly, when a “Page” is sent, users can broadcast to the OSD. ELAN Intercom is also compatible with both audio and video third party door stations. IP cameras can be assigned to audio only intercom zones or door stations to add video monitoring. ELAN users can monitor audio or video from door stations from any ELAN interface or mobile device at any time.
Because ELAN Intercom is built on the ELAN Control Platform, integrators can use triggers from devices like doorbell interfaces, door locks, ELAN Sense modules and more to create custom event maps that can send whole house pages, alert a mobile user, and more.
At CEDIA, we’ll also be showing off the new ELAN UltraMatrix family of A/V switchers: the GMV 64, GMV88 and GMV1616 UltraMatrix is packed with features like the Audio Return Path, which allows integrators to return analog or digital multichannel audio from any local source to the system’s head end without engaging CEC, or the ability to deliver 2K resolutions at 60fps and 4:4:4 color sampling. The ELAN UltraMatrix is the only MRAV product family on the market today that holistically addresses 4K systems as they are today, even as we plan for the UHD 4K of tomorrow.
We look forward to showing off the new ELAN Intercom and the UltraMatrix chassis at CEDIA. Join us in booth 4128.
