The Service Call Killer Control4 driver introduced by BlackWire Designs

US distributor, BlackWire Designs has introduced The Service Call Killer, a new driver for the Control4 platform.

Eliminating the need for service calls to power cycle devices that have fallen offline, the new driver monitors the connected status of components controlled by Control4 systems.

If a device falls offline, the driver automatically sends a command to compatible power distribution units (PDU) to power cycle the outlet it’s connected to, saving time and money for integrators.

“Service calls not only increase operational expenses for integrators, but they also impact the user experience due to system downtime,” said Kevin Luther, owner of BlackWire Designs. “It’s especially frustrating when all that’s required is unplugging a component and plugging it back in to solve a simple connectivity issue.”

He added: “The Service Call Killer addresses this issue quickly and effectively with no intervention required, making ti a must-have for any installation.”

Quick to install and featuring an easy-to-use interface, The Service Call Killer is currently compatible with most PDUs on the market.

The new driver is currently only available in the US. However, with the aim to save time and money for the integrator, it's a concept that could potentially be rolled out across the EMEA region in the future.
