Vizio intros P-Series of 4K HDR TVs

Vizio has unveiled its 65-in P-Series range of Quantum 4K HDR Smart TVs, pitched as its “brightest yet"- peaking at 2,000 nits brightness, as part of its new 20-strong line-up for 2018.

Retailing at a reasonable $2,199 (US pricing), Vizio has put strong emphasis on brightness when it comes to its latest flagship P-Series of Smart TVs. Its latest range sees the manufacturer incorporate Active Full Array Max backlight technology (with 192 local dimming zones) to create what it believes creates the "purest black levels” it has offered to date.

The bezel-less display also packs in Quantum Color Spectrum technology to potentially produce over one billion colours, according to Vizio, as well as a 240Hz refresh rate. Last year’s model had a 240Hz refresh rate, yet only 128 local dimming LEDs and 500 nits of brightness.

Vizio’s has outlined a 55-inch ($900), 65-in model ($2,200) and a 75-in ($2,500) model so far, accommodating for all needs in the home.

The accompanying M-Series comes in a 65-model offering 600 nits of peak brightness, 48 dimming zones and a 60Hz refresh rate (priced at $1,000).

The TVs come with Vizio's own SmartCast OS, supporting apps such as Netflix, and Prime Video, with Google Chromecast also built-in. For those fans of controlling their TV with their voice, users can furthermore give specific commands via Alexa or Google Assistant.
