It can be frustrating having to find and type in an often long and complex Wi-Fi password when you’re a guest at someone’s house. But the new Wi-Fi Porter makes the process easy and simple by tapping your phone against a small device.
Using NFC – the same technology that enables actions such as Apple Pay – this small, décor-friendly device allows guests to tap the Wi-Fi porter with their phone, or if using an older phone, use the camera to scan the QR code on the bottom of the device to sign into the Wi-Fi without having to enter any additional information such as a password.
Even if the homeowner is away, guests can still log into the Wi-Fi using the Wi-Fi Porter instructions specially made for visitors to be left underneath the device.
Because it uses NFC technology, the Wi-Fi Porter works without batteries or a power supply meaning homeowners have no need to worry about recharging it.
The Wi-Fi porter is available now from Ten One Design.
