Bluesound unveils Powernode amplifier with enhanced DirectDigital technology

Bluesound announced the launch of its next-generation wireless music streaming amplifier today.

The multiroom audio brand introduces the updated Powernode, offering the latest DirectDigital amplification for enhanced power.

With intuitive controls and smarter home integration, the Powernode aims to unite hi-res performance and simplified AV integration into a single home audio system.

Morten Nielsen, associate product manager at Bluesound, said: “The Powernode has always stood at the intersection of performance and simplicity.

“This evolution expands its capabilities while staying true to our vision of delivering HiFi quality sound without compromise.”

Advancing its previous model, the new Powernode features an updated circuitry design with signal path improvements – as well as 100 watts per channel in stereo mode and 80 watts per channel in a 3.1 system configuration.

The result is audiophilic sound suitable for music or cinema, with virtually no distortion.

The Powernode is built with multiroom streaming platform BluOS to support more than 20 streaming services including Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer.

Access is provided for high-resolution formats up to 24-bit/192kHz, MQA and DSD256 playback.

With wireless surround capabilities, the Powernode also accommodates Bluesound Pulse wireless speakers and a Pulse Sub+ to build a 5.1 surround system.

It comes with support for HDMI eARC, Dirac Live Ready room correction and the ability to add a centre channel speaker alongside left and right channels.
