Focal has introduced its new Littora line of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, designed for yachts and spaces located in coastal and wet environments.
Designed to be installed both indoors and outdoors, the discreetly integrated speakers benefit from Focal’s knowledge to deliver high-performance sound quality outdoors while blending seamlessly into surroundings.
The speakers are specially designed for yachts, coastal environments (home, restaurants, etc) and wet spaces (spa, steam room, etc), or any other spaces subject to specific outdoor conditions (humidity, sea spray, salt, wind, etc).
This new addition to the product line up comes after the opening of the Focal Powered by Naim showroom in Cannes, France, the first floor of which is designed to replicate a boat interior.
Littora 1000 & Littora 200
The Littora range includes two series of in-wall and in-ceiling speaker drivers: Littora 1000 and Littora 200.
The first is the flagship series. Made in France and inspired by the Utopia line of in-wall and in-ceiling products, the flagship series features two speaker drivers, 1000 ICW8 and ICW10, offer the most high-performance sound for outdoor environments. They are ideal for both parties as well as ultra-high-quality listening sessions and everything in between. The two speakers are complemented by the 1000 ICW SUB10 subwoofer for a powerful sound.
Littora 200 is the second series, consisting of the 200 ICW6 and ICW8 speaker drivers which combine compactness and performance to deliver a wide sound coverage. Three outdoor loudspeakers are the final additions to the Littora 200 series: OD Sat 5, OD Stone 8, and OD Sub 12, designed to enjoy Focal sound in outdoor settings such as gardens, terraces, poolsides and more.
To meet the needs and constraints of marine and coastal environments, Focal engineers have developed the Fiber IP cone for the Littora 1000 series and the Iris IP cone for the Littora 200 series, combining very high sound quality with resistance.
The new product line up blends performance, discretion, ease of integration and resistance to all weathers. They also benefit from IP65 certification, making them fully waterproof and resistant to outdoor elements.
For a custom system and listening experience, an angled bracket is provided as an accessory, available in three sizes: 6” (15cm), 8” (20cm) and 10” (25cm). This allows integrators to determine the tilt of the speaker driver and play the sound in the direction of the customer’s choice. It is also possible to adapt the sound of the speaker drivers by simply clicking on the button on the back, depending on whether they are to be used indoors or outdoors.
The Littora line up will be available from November 2022.
