Lithe Audio launch first in-ceiling speakers with built-in AirPlay 2
Lithe Audio has introduced the world’s first Wi-Fi ceiling speakers with built-in AirPlay 2, creating more opportunities in multiroom audio.
Having AirPlay 2 built-in allows users to group Lithe Audio’s all-in-one ceiling speakers with other AirPlay 2 compatible speakers and systems, enabling a fully immersive multiroom audio solution using multiple brands.
Apple’s latest wireless technology allows users to control their AV technology, such as soundbars, speakers, TVs, etc, from their iPhone, iPad or Mac, transforming it into an all-in-one entertainment hub.
Lithe Audio’s latest Wi-Fi speakers will now be part of this whole-home entertainment experience with the addition of AirPlay 2 and will work seamlessly with other brands and across multiple devices to stream high quality audio throughout the home.
“This is a truly exciting development for us – and for consumers who now have the option of a cost-effective addition to their multiroom home entertainment systems and don’t need to be locked into a single brand solution,” said Amit Ravat, managing director and co-founder of Lithe Audio.
“Our ceiling speakers deliver superb sound quality, with a pin-sharp clarity that will complement other brand offerings. And what makes them even more attractive is that they’re an all-in-one solution – with the 60W RMS amplifier and Wi-Fi built in. This means there’s no need for speaker cables or separate AV equipment, making them really easy to install or retro-fit into any home.”
This update adds Apple HomeKit compatibility to the Wi-Fi speakers, allowing users to not only control compatible devices using their voice, but they can also create automated scenes by linking lighting, heating, security and audio through their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Homeowners can pair their music to play with motion sensors, pulse switches or alarm systems.
Using Siri, homeowners can now turn on the lights, adjust the thermostat and play their favourite playlist through the Lithe Audio wireless ceiling speakers.
To ensure a true multiroom setup, the Lithe Audio Wi-Fi ceiling speakers with AirPlay 2 also come in an IP44 version for safe use in bathrooms.
Ravat continued: “We’re thrilled to be the first to market with an AirPlay 2 ceiling speakers. It reinforces our brand as being in the forefront of innovation when it comes to high quality, easy-to-use home technology.
“For us, it’s all about creating a great user experience that combines advanced technology with ease of installation and superb sound quality. And these speakers will not disappoint.”
To be aesthetically-pleasing, the speakers are frameless and designed to ‘disappear’ into the ceiling, only protruding 3mm. The magnetic grille covers can be removed easily for cleaning and maintenance and can also be replaced with a different coloured finish. In addition, the grilles can be painted to match the ceiling for a ‘barely-there’ look.
A single speaker is priced at £329.99 while a master and passive pair are priced at £399.
