A specialist distributor in the UK has added a digital audio streamer from Lumin to its portfolio.
Sound Design Distribution is said to be delighted to introduce the U2X Network Transport to the UK.
The unit advances its predecessor, the X1 network player, with the latest System-on-Chip (SoC) technology.
The SoC processor enables enhanced upsampling and signal handling for file format support up to 768kHz from a range of digital streaming sources – including Spotify Connect, Tidal, AirPlay and more.
The audiophilic design encompasses a 10MHx clock for inputs and outputs to synchronise with external devices.
And for the first time, an isolated USB port is available to separate the DAC and system from the network.
Meanwhile the low-noise external power supply, familiar on the X1, minimises interference to sonic performance.
The U2X offers digital outputs like USB, SPDIF, AES/EBU and TOSLINK, as well as access to music libraries and playlists via the updated Lumin app with simpler view options and playlist management.
The unit is also Audirvana and Roon Ready-certified.
