Optoma’s new 4K projector delivers high brightness for large screens up to 300in

Optoma has expanded its 4K projection lineup with a compact laser projector aimed at large-screen home entertainment installations.

The UHZ36 delivers 4K UHD resolution with 3,500 lumens of brightness, targeted at living spaces where ambient light is a consideration.

Marketed as a replacement for TV, the projector supports HDR and includes FILMMAKER MODE, enabling playback that preserves original colour temperature, contrast and motion settings.

The key appeal for residential installers lies in flexibility: the projector supports screen sizes from 50in up to 300in, offering an alternative to large-format TVs while retaining installation versatility.

Designed around Texas Instruments’ DLP technology and Optoma’s DuraCore laser light source, the UHZ36 offers up to 30,000 hours of operation in Eco mode, reducing maintenance compared with lamp-based models.

A claimed 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and onboard image processing technologies, including PureEngine and PureMotion, are designed to improve detail and motion handling for sports and film content.

The UHZ36 adds to Optoma’s growing portfolio of laser-based home cinema products.
