Q Acoustics has introduced in-ceiling, high-performance loudspeakers designed to streamline installation.
The new lineup includes three 6.5-inch models (QI65CE, QI65CWE IPX4 and QI65CWE Stereo IPX4), with an 8-inch QI80CE set to follow later this year.
Central to the range, a redesigned Easyfit spring mechanism removes the need for traditional screw clamps and power tools.
Each speaker uses four high-tension spring fixings that apply consistent pressure against the plasterboard.
The fixings can be primed into a locking position and, once the speaker is wired and placed into the ceiling void, the installer releases each catch. The springs then deploy automatically, securing the speaker firmly in place.
Removal requires only a simple release mechanism.

The speakers are optimised for use with Q Acoustics’ E50, E120 and E300A install audio systems but remain compatible with third-party systems.
On the stereo QI65CE, QI65CWE and QI80CE models, the tweeter can be pivoted up to 22 degrees through 360 degrees, allowing installers to direct high frequencies towards a specific listening position.
The speakers feature mid/bass woofer cones suitable for moisture-resistant applications.
A high-frequency EQ switch also allows finetuning of the sound ±1.5 dB to suit different rooms and preferences.
IPX4-rated QI65CWE models are suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, featuring zinc-plated grilles for corrosion resistance.
