Scanner specialist Ricoh has launched the PJ UHL3660 ultra-short-throw projector (UST), using Ricoh glass to beam 4K images from short distances.
The UST projector uses Ricoh's twin laser and phosphor wheel technology to deliver 6,500 lumens of brightness.
Ricoh’s OptiBright tech operates with two laser lights beamed through two phosphor wheels, producing high brightness and up to 40,000 hours product life. A Wall Colour mode also optimises images for non-white surfaces.
Four-way pixel-shifting enables 4K UHD visual performance from the projector, while a 0.24:1 throw ratio delivers an 85’ TV screen size just 0.4’ from the wall or screen. If users have a wall or screen large enough, they can pull the unit out to nearly 15’ to create a maximum display size of 160 diagonal inches.
The UHL3660 has 360-degree mounting options, portrait projection capabilities and multi-image blending. Keystone adjustment, 4-corner and 6-point alignment and image presets optimise setup.
Content is fed to the projector via HDMI or Ethernet LAN, while Miracast is supported for wireless screen-sharing from Windows or Android devices.
The unit is dust-proof to IP6X standards and features a cooling system to continue operation in temperatures as high as 113 °F (45 °C).
