British audio company, Ruark Audio, has revealed its new collaboration with fashion name Fred Perry on a compact speaker system.
The limited edition MR1 line retains traditional turntable tones while delivering connectivity to modern devices, featuring Bluetooth with aptX for CD quality streaming as well as the addition of a compact remote control.
The collaboration aims to celebrate Ruark’s decades of audio expertise and Fred Perry’s influence over generations of tennis players, musicians and filmmakers since its founding in 1952 by the three-time Wimbledon champion.
Looking to the future of music and design, the speakers are covered in polyester piqué fabric to mirror the Fred Perry brand’s tennis polo shirt and are complete with champagne Laurel Wreath embroidery. The backplate is finished in complementary black and champagne hues, showcasing dual branding and gold-rimmed hardware.
Alongside hand crafted enclosures and multi coloured LEDs showing system status and input, the speakers house 75mm neodymium woofers and 20mm neodymium tweeters. Their individual Linear Class A-B amplifiers deliver 20 watts nominal output, paired with audio grade components throughout and a loudness function for improved sound at low levels.
Alan O’Rourke, founder and managing director of Ruark Audio, said: “Our collaboration with Fred Perry exemplifies what Ruark stands for: combining impeccable sound quality with timeless design.
“Both brands share a deep connection to music, and this partnership is a celebration of our mutual heritage and shared values.”
