‘This is the gold standard’: Crestron introduces 80 Series touch screens for synchronised home control

Crestron has unveiled a new family of control interfaces said to simplify home automation.

The 80 Series, expected to be available globally from Q2 2026, combines tactile design with enhanced performance and native Crestron Home OS integration to eliminate device unlocking or app switching.

Available in 8- and 10-inch wall mount and tabletop models (black and white), the 80 Series is designed to blend into luxury residences, MDUs, hospitality suites and marine environments.

The interfaces provide access to lighting, climate, AV, shading, security and more, introducing Crestron’s most advanced radar-based proximity detection to date.

This means the touch screen wakes instantly as someone approaches, while a newly positioned ambient light sensor adjusts screen brightness for visibility in any lighting condition.

Georgio Galaris, manager of residential marketing at Crestron, said: “With the 80 Series, we’ve taken everything we’ve learned - speed, reliability, audio quality, sensing, and design - and refined it into the most responsive and elegant touch screens we’ve ever built.

“This is the gold standard, perfected for today’s smart home.”

Built on the company’s longstanding platform, the 80 Series aims to deliver smooth navigation from “Goodnight” scenes to climate adjustment and whole-home AV management.

It offers improved microphones and speakers for room-to-room communication, taking privacy into account with a new microphone on/off button featuring an LED indicator.

Both PoE+ and Wi-Fi connectivity give dealers the required options for each space, intending to minimise any disruption to finished interiors.

Galaris adds that designers and integrators require touchscreens that can fit anywhere the homeowner wants control.

Additionally, Crestron's residential portfolio sees the rollout of the new Cevo Mini Remote for streaming-first homes. Launched in September 2025, the product extends Crestron Home OS control beyond the touch screen as a compact handheld experience.
