This chic villa located in St. Moritz has been recognised in the ‘Best Integrated Home’ category at this year’s Crestron Integration Awards.
The three-floor villa is a mix of classic chalet and sleek contemporary design, combining a contemporary shape with the wooden cladding typical of old Swiss farmhouses, which the new home automation solution also needed to reflect.
Italian integrated technology expert, iTEK designed and installed lighting, heating and ventilation controls, and security cameras. Additionally, they incorporated distributed audio and video solutions to provide the ultimate entertainment experience for the homeowners. Crestron was selected as the technology solution for the project.
Each room throughout the villa benefits from HD Set-Top boxes and Apple TV from the centralised Crestron DigitalMedia 8-zone switcher. DigitalMedia is a complete end-to-end distribution solution that allows all video sources, such as DVD and Blu-ray players, satellite receivers, and Apple TVs to be housed centrally and distributed around the property. An 18-zone audio multiroom system is powered by the Crestron Sonnex system. Each zone has a Crestron MTX-3 wireless handheld remote for entertainment control, and the spa has a waterproof Crestron remote. A Crestron TSW-1050 10-inch wall mount touch panel was installed in the formal living room, lounge and home cinema area for the complete control.
The interior design scheme, which employs wooden panelling on the walls complemented by a rich brown and cream interior design, is not interrupted by the discreetly integrated technology. Taking the elegant antique oak wood staircase to the ground floor, you find the three spacious bedrooms. The tech-spec in this basement is high—the client asked for a high-fidelity surround system throughout the home cinema, master bedroom, children’s bedroom, living room and lounge. The basement covers a much larger surface than the two floors above and includes a large, modern kitchen, a home cinema, gym, including an onyx backlit bar counter and rear wall, and staff quarters. The impressive spa completes the floor, comprising of massage rooms, a sauna, steam room, cold-water tub and showers.
