Audio brand, Bowers & Wilkins has developed a music app for its Formation wireless technology platform.
Available on Android and iOS, the app will initially offer support for Qobuz, TIDAL, TuneIn, Dash Radio (in certain markets), NTS Radio, and SoundCloud, significantly increasing the number of music-streaming services accessible to Formation-enabled product owners. More subscription services and streaming platforms will be added in the coming months.
Available now, the new Bowers & Wilkins Music App accumulates content from each available music service into one interface for the user to browse easily through tracks, albums, playlists, and radio stations. Further enhancing the user experience, it will give personalised recommendations as well as a selection of curated Bowers & Wilkins playlists.
At first, the new music app will work alongside the existing Bowers & Wilkins Home App, which will continue to provide set up functionality for Formation-enabled products in the short term. However, later this year, the company will combine the apps to create a unified set up, control and streaming experience, expiring the existing Home app.
The company is planning to continue its investment and expansion of the Formation-enabled product portfolio to further improve the user experience and to add new features, such as support for popular CI home control systems like Control4.
