In a bid to make its education more accessible, CEDIA (the Custom Education Design and Installation Association) has kick started 2015 by securing two additional venues to host its most popular training courses. In line with this expansion, CEDIA is also offering online supporting courses on its education website: www.cediaeducation.com.
CEDIA has announced that two of its Trade Supplier members will provide facilities in the North and South of the country to allow the Association to reach a wider audience with its training. Alexander House in Epsom, the headquarters of high-end custom install distributor, AWE, will host sessions in the South, while leading manufacturer, Armour Home will run training events at its Hindley Green facility in Wigan. Approximately twelve sessions will be held at these two facilities in the first six months of 2015, with courses including an Introduction to Smart Home Technology, Introduction to Smart Home Wiring, Home Cinema Design Package and Residential Networking.
“CEDIA offers an array of benefits to its members, with education being at the forefront. It is therefore important for our education to be easily accessible to our members, regardless of their location,†says Wendy Griffiths, Executive Director of CEDIA EMEA. “By securing a fixed training centre in both the North and South of the country, along with our training base at CEDIA HQ in St Neots, attending one of our courses will now be much easier. In addition to these new facilities, we are offering an online education resource, allowing both members and non-members to complete a training course from the home or office. We believe that this feature will be of particular interest to some of our international members.â€
While face-to-face training remains extremely important in our industry, an online training portal is useful to those who find it difficult to take a full day out of work. These online supporting courses include Home Theatre Room Design, Introduction to Control and User Interfaces, Cable & Connector Properties and IP for Technicians. Both members and non-members can access these sessions by visiting the CEDIA education website and registering their details. Once registered, the content remains accessible for up to 90 days.
