CEDIA releases full details for biggest London Tech Summit yet

CEDIA will kickstart its series of UK Tech Summits on 18 April at the Business Design Centre in London.

The free-to-attend event will give attendees the opportunity to learn valuable insights from industry leaders, get face time with manufacturers and distributors, and experience innovative new technologies.

With 50 sponsors, of which 17 are new for this year, lined up for the day, the London Tech Summit is set to be the largest event of its type in the UK. An agenda for the day has been released, which includes three 45-minute presentations. Blustream will provide an insight into Video over IP vs HDBaseT technology for multiroom applications; Snap One will look at how smart technology can drive healthy and green living; and GUDE Systems will provide an update on the future of power monitoring and management.

Alongside the presentations, the hall will be filled with sponsors showcasing their products and solutions. CEDIA will also be inviting students from technical colleges to the event as part of its NextGen initiative, allowing them to learn about the career opportunities in the industry, meet integrators, brands and suppliers, and get hands on with some of the latest products available. Founding CEDIA member, IdeaWorks, will take the group on a showroom tour to provide an opportunity to see products in practice.

Towards the end of the day, Alex Buchan, a strategic technologist from the Digital TV Group (DTG) will host a keynote on ‘Key Trends in Consumer Entertainment’. The presentation will highlight the future direction of the media industry, from equipment trends to the consumer experience. It will provide an insight into consumer attitudes to the latest features such as UHD, next generation audio, interactive and immersive content and how those interplays with increasing awareness of topics such as cyber security and sustainability.

Following the day event, a networking drinks reception will be hosted by Silent Gliss in its showroom within the Business Design Centre.
