GreenWave preferred platform partner for development of E.ON SE energy management services to potential 32 million households GreenWave Reality today announced an extension of its partnership with E.ON SE, one of the world’s largest investor-owned power and gas companies, to deliver smart home services across Europe and help residences achieve more comfort, security, and energy efficiency. The expanded partnership allows E.ON SE to license GreenWave technology, including hardware, software and GreenWave hosting and cloud services, and gain a smart home infrastructure to drive development of a wide range of consumer-facing energy management applications including solar, home automation, and connected lighting. The advanced management capabilities in the GreenWave platform, such as self-healing, help to reduce costs to deploy and manage the new services, improving customer adoption and increasing profitability. “This partnership underscores our deep commitment to lead the charge in finding new ways to help our customers live better and more efficiently,” states Urban Keussen, senior vice president for technology & innovation at E.ON SE. “The GreenWave team and their product offerings will help us deliver innovation to our customers through an industry-leading platform.” The two companies will work jointly with E.ON’s regional units across Europe for their local market knowledge and expertise to develop and test commercial off-the-shelf products, which will be deployed and managed in the home through the E.ON branded Smart Home platform. The partnership provides E.ON’s regional units with an opportunity to expand their portfolio of products and services personalized to their customer base, resulting in new revenue streams and expanded opportunities to serve their customers. “E.ON is a category leader thinking big around the issue of energy management,” said Greg Memo, CEO of GreenWave Reality. “We are excited to help E.ON accelerate innovation that will make a big difference in helping households across Europe manage not only their energy consumption, but provide a portfolio of unique value-added services through smart home technology that is simple and easy to use.” E.ON selected GreenWave Home2Cloud as the development platform of choice after a vigorous two-year trial utilizing GreenWave powered smart home technology saw measurable results in terms of energy savings and better understanding of energy consumption. The rollout of this program is expected to begin in the first half of 2014. www.greenwavereality.com
