Swedish home furniture store, IKEA announced its collaboration with Bluetooth-speaker company, Sonos at the end of 2017.
But the companies have finally revealed that the Symfonisk line of smart speakers will be launching in August this year.
The range will be fully compatible with Sonos’ existing products and Ikea’s Home Smart line of products, including power outlets, lights, and window shades.
The announcement was made via a promotional video on IKEA’s website. In the video, a representative for IKEA said: “Music makes my house feel like a home.” Another commented: “We are a perfect match. They bring the sound expertise and we bring the home furnishing knowledge.” A spokesperson for Sonos explained: “We both believe in the power of design to elevate the volume of everyday life.”
So far, neither company has released further details about the launch apart from that it will be released in August 2019.
