LEDVANCE UK has welcomed Nelo Neves as its new head of trade sales in the UK and Ireland, following the announcement that Steve Stark is retiring from the role after 36 years in the lighting industry.
Stark had previously worked for OSRAM and moved over to LEDVANCE in 2016.
Marking Stark’s retirement, Neves said: “Steve leaves us a brilliant legacy at LEDVANCE, building an exceptional team in the UK. His service to LEDVANCE and the lighting industry has been outstanding. I am looking forward to taking our dedicated team in Warrington [UK] forward, building on our strong relationships with out partners and customers in the UK and Ireland, and to addressing the new challenges and opportunities that the lighting market presents.”
Neves is coming to the role from within LEDVANCE, having been managing director of the South African branch of the company since 2018 based in Johannesburg.
Following a technical education in the UK, he started his lighting career in an export role, progressing to head of sales. Throughout his career so far, he has worked in Spain, Holland, Sweden, and across the African continent.
