Meridian announces plans for CEDIA 2018

Meridian will showcase recent launches including the 251 and 271 zone controller and the benefits of its Design and Specification Service at CEDIA 2018, alongside taking part in a number of educational events.

The UK-based manufacturer will be on hand to demonstrate the uses of its free Design and Specification Service, and is inviting installers to bring any upcoming plans to the show and see how it can help them create schemes for home cinema projects. The manufacturer say the service can “save hours of design time on each project.”

Meridian will also show how customers can achieve immersive, hi-res audio using its 271 Digital Theatre controller. Designed to integrate any analogue or digital AV processor or receiver on the market with Meridian’s DSP loudspeakers, the 271 is designed to bring quality dynamics and clarity in analogue, digital and 3D format applications, with 16 unbalanced & 16 balanced inputs and the option of 16 digital inputs (depending on processor).

Meridian’s 200 Series – including the 251 Powered Zone controller, 218 Zone controller, and its 258 hi-res 8-channel power amplifier – will furthermore be highlighted at the show.

The 251 is suited for a variety of analogue speaker applications and incorporates two powerful, cool-running channels of onboard amplification for high-resolution audio (including Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) audio.

The Meridian 218 offers multiple control options, suitable for a wide range of distributed high-resolution audio applications – from single zone to multi-zone use.

Meridian’s latest amplifier offering, the 258, can be integrated with any existing passive loudspeaker system, adding power and performance to multi-room audio systems.

The UHD722 Ultra High Definition audio processor will round out Meridian’s stand at CEDIA – a 4K switching solution incorporating Multichannel Meridian High Resolution (MMHR) output for enabling connections to existing processors. Meridian’s high resolution Upsampling and Apodising technologies are additionally on hand to support optimum performance from Blu-ray Disc, satellite/TV receivers and gaming consoles.

As part of the CEDIA Training programme, Meridian’s education manager, Hugo Fitzjohn, will also be helping installers understand how they can easily integrate Hi-Res Audio systems into their clients’ homes. ‘Hi-Res Audio: Are You Ready?’ will take place on Wednesday 5 September from 10:00 – 11:30am and is taking bookings now.

Meridian will exhibit at booth #2139 at CEDIA. This year’s event runs from 6 to 8 September, 2018 at the San Diego Convention Centre in California.

Meridian products will also be in action at Barco (#2127) and Josh-ai’s (#3223) respective booths at the show.
