Rental and installation company CLS installed a Nexo sound system in Aberdeen’s Trivoli Theatre as part of a wider restoration to the Grade A listed building.
The 527-seat Scottish theatre, that originally opened in 1872, needed in an audio system that could handle a range of performances, from amateur productions to full touring acts.
The theatre owners recently approached local rental and installation company CLS Aberdeen to configure and install a new sound system. Charlie Flett, owner of CLS, said: “Appearance and coverage were important considerations at the Tivoli, so we opted for drops of three Nexo Geo M10s on either side of the stage, with two pairs of L18 subs on the floor. With Nexo P10 point source cabinets as in-fills, it’s a system that’s compact enough to fit unobtrusively into the venue, but with the power and throw necessary to cover a relatively complex, three-tier auditorium.”
Caroline Morgan, MD of the Tivoli, added: “The venue is split over three levels and provides for a wide range of acts ranging from local amateur productions to full touring acts, so the new system had to be able to transition across these very different events with ease.”
The amplification is provided by Nexo NXAMP4X2Mk2 4-channel powered controllers, with phase-coherent processing pre-sets for all Nexo speakers available from front panel touch screens.
